Holy God – Chosen Race

The God of the Bible reveals Himself as Holy. He is pure and undefiled in every respect. As the Apostle John writes: “God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all” (I John 1:5). In the Greek text, there is what is called a “double negative” in this verse. It is a rare occurrence and was used to emphasize an absolute denial. So, the above verse could read, “God is Light, and in Him there is not one speck of darkness at all.” God is morally pure and there is not one speck of moral impurity in Him at all.
Prophetic Encounter
We find not only illustrations of the Old Covenant prophets encountering our Holy God, but also explaining Him. Recall the Prophet Isaiah’s awesome encounter with the Holy God in Isaiah 6:
“In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.’ And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.”
God, the Lord of hosts, is Holy, Holy, Holy. And with such an encounter, Isaiah was immediately convicted of his own sin and the sins of the people of Israel.
Like Isaiah, we are unclean and God is Holy. We cannot stand in His Presence without the cleansing of our sins.
God is Holy and, therefore, what He said in the Scripture is Holy and He will not compromise Himself or what He said because He does not change.
Chosen People
This Holy God has declared the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to be His Holy People (Deuteronomy 7:6; 14:2, 21). Holy means sanctified or set apart.
This Holy God of the Bible has created, formed and chosen this People Israel to be His own possession for His glory and for His purpose. It was, and is, and always will be God’s intention to glorify Himself as Holy in and through His Holy People.
“But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior …” – Isaiah 43:1-3a
Did you catch that phrase, “The Holy One of Israel”?
This Holy God has chosen a People to be His own People and HE WILL NOT COMPROMISE His Holy choice by choosing any other. He will not!
Unholy Theology
Today, however, it is taught by Catholicism and Protestantism and every other religious sect that God has chosen those among the expanded “human race.” A new chosen people. He is no longer the Holy One of Israel, but the Holy One of all races and racial subtypes. It must be conceded, therefore, that this once Holy God has changed His mind and has chosen anyone who “converts” regardless of race.
This is the unholy theology of tolerance, diversity and equality. It has its roots, not in the Old or New Covenant sections of the Bible, but in Babylonian Judaism and its offshoots, worshipping the catch-all teaching of the “unity of God and the brotherhood of man.”
This universal teaching that permeates God’s chosen People today is in direct defiance of a Holy God. Inclusive redemption and salvation is offensive to a Holy God and He will not compromise His holiness or change His mind. He is the Holy God who has chosen a Holy Race!
Repentance
I will honor, glorify and worship this Holy God by declaring His truth that He has chosen an exclusive People for His Name. How could I possibly compromise this truth? How could I now continue to sin “after receiving the knowledge of the truth” and with the full expectation of a terrifying “judgment” by trampling “under foot the Son of God” and regarding “ as unclean the blood of the covenant” and “insult the Spirit of grace” (Hebrews 10:26-29)?
When we broaden the scope of theology to include “the human race” we greatly dishonor and “trample under foot” our Lord Jesus Christ who shed His own blood to redeem and save His own Holy People.
Are not America and all the other Northwestern European people in their historic lands under increasing judgment? Modern “Christian” theology has trampled under foot the Son of God and this judgment is the result.
“Oh God of my fathers, I repent of my sins and the sins of God’s Holy Race. Forgive, cleanse and sanctify us again by Your merciful grace. We set apart ourselves unto You once again. Restore and heal us that we may glorify You in Your Holiness. We will not compromise Your Holy Name!”
